The Nexus 5 is currently available in black and white variants, but according to a leaked photo from a Vietnamese site, Google could be in the process of expanding the product’s colour palette.
A leaked photo of a red Nexus 5 from Zing.vn looks fairly real, aligning with rumours of colour additions from earlier in the week. Google already sells Nexus 5 bumpers in a variety of colours, including red and yellow, so it would make sense for the company to offer the actual device in identical hues.
According to the latest leaks, the red Google Nexus 5 will be officially launched in late February or early March, with the device to land alongside a yellow toned offering.
Although Google has yet to officially comment on any upcoming release of colourful Google Nexus 5 handsets, reports earlier this week suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S rival will be made available in a total of eight colours.
As well as the aforementioned hues, the Google Nexus 5 will also reportedly be launched in orange, green, blue and purple shades.
Apart the change in colour, the new Google Nexus 5 handsets are not expected to differ in any way from the original models.
Boasting a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display alongside Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the Google Nexus 5 sports a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and the option of 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
